decorator show houses usually have a showstopper room.
the ‘stairway to heaven’ by new york interior designer, sasha bikoff, could be considered the showstopper room at the 2018 kips bay decorator show house. the stairway was probably the most frequently publicized room on social media.
the patterns and colors were inspired by 1980’s postmodern design movements. including, the memphis group in milan, italy. and, the art deco revival in miami beach, FL.
