do pink & blue make you think of

or, tranquility?

or, duality?

duality seems like an appropriate adjective, since the pantone color institute ™ selected two colors of the year for 2016, instead of one.  pantone, a division of danaher corporation, provides products and services for the design, retail, and manufacturing industries.

according to abc news, the pantone color of the year press release ‘explained that the combination echoed a growing trend of challenging traditional perceptions about color association.’

what perceptions do you think that consumers, designers, retailers, and manufacturers have about pink & blue?

do you think that fashion and interior design trends are related?

*i’m sorry that i didn’t photograph the gucci windows on sunday morning, when we were on the way back to the grand hotel et de milan from breakfast at sant ambroeus.  and, on the way to linate airport…

**the herbarium prints remind me of the chrysanthemum wallpaper in the guest bedroom of my grandparent’s home.  could herbarium prints be considered granny chic?
